Swallow Dean’s bedroom view is breath-taking, with Beadnell Bay and its famous sandy beach in the distance, and cattle and sheep grazing in the organic fields nearby. This one-bedroom cottage is perfect for a very peaceful, rural retreat mid-way between Bamburgh and Alnwick, 2 miles from the Northumberland heritage coast.
The hugely generous space is warm, very comfortable and full of beautiful touches. The underfloor heating is generated by the biomass boilers, fuelled by woodchip from the surrounding Fallodon estate woods. The interior space is very light and bright and the floor to ceiling French windows open onto a terrace with wooden furniture, facing south-east.
The welcoming open-plan living area has an excellent Clearview stove and unlimited hardwood logs, and plenty of seating for friends to drop in or for guests to stretch out and read one of the excellent books provided.
Accommodation
Kitchen
with a single oven, four-ring hob, microwave, under-counter fridge and freezer, and dishwasher. There is a washer-dryer in the hall cupboard.
Dining
with seating for up to four, the dining area overlooks the terrace and courtyard.
Living
with plentiful comfortable sofa.com soft-seating, Clearview wood-burning stove, 43″ Samsung smart TV with Freeview and streaming apps including Netflix and Prime Video (own accounts needed), carefully chosen books, and a games table. Full-length sliding French windows open out onto a private, enclosed terrace with chairs and tables.
Bedroom One
with a super-king or twin beds plus ample storage and hanging space, and a 24″ Samsung smart TV with Freeview and streaming apps.
Bathroom
with a traditional bath tub and a separate walk-in shower, basin and toilet.
Outside and Parking
Outside, there is an immaculate gravel and grass courtyard to the front and a private south-east facing terrace with tables and chairs. There is ample private parking to the rear of the cottage.
Facilities for infants

Dogs
We are very sorry, but no dogs are allowed at any time in Swallow Dean.
Brunton Granary (sleeps 8) and Stable Cottage (sleeps 6) can take 2 dogs, and Long Byre and Garden Cottage (sleeps 2) can take 1 dog. These properties have either an enclosed garden or terrace and indoor space designed with dogs in mind.
