The Granary is a fascinating historical building which looks out onto Brunton burn, the river that runs down to the sandy beach at Beadnell Bay.  The house is arranged across three floors, with ten deep, wide steps leading down to the front door.  It is a stunning self-catering holiday house, with four double bedrooms, and the chance to bring two dogs to this wonderful area.

The date stone of 1793, above the front door, indicates the ancient history of this building.  And inside the modern interior, with its stylish touches and great attention to detail, complements the dedication of craftsmen from two hundred years ago.  Perfectly situated between Alnwick and Bamburgh and just a few fields away from Northumberland’s heritage coast, a family or small group can enjoy The Granary’s rural views and beautifully presented interiors.

It is light and bright inside, with a welcoming open-plan main living area and kitchen.  The games room on the bottom floor has plenty of space for ping pong competitions and conversations round the bar, or film nights on the 65” Samsung tv.  The riverside balcony leads off the games room, with an outside table and 8 chairs, so meals or book reading can be accompanied by the soothing sounds of Brunton burn running past and the chance to see jumping trout, wonderful bird life and even otters.

Sumptuous feather and down pillows and duvets, Egyptian cotton bed linen, fluffy Egyptian cotton towels and luxurious White Company toiletries are provided, and a generous basket of local products on arrival welcomes you to this perfect rural retreat.

The historic nature of the building means some unavoidable limitations for access.  10 stone steps lead down to the front door.  The outside dining balcony leads off the downstairs games room, which has a staircase of 12 steps.  There is no dedicated garden for this property but there is a paved area with a table and benches down the bank from the front door, next to the burn.  There are miles of footpaths around the estate and immediate access from the front door to open, green spaces.
