Local Shops and Amenities
Embleton (2.5 miles)
- The Village Farm Shop – general store and post office, Front St, Embleton. Open seven days a week, generally 8am- 5pm. The shop has recently been taken over by local sisters-in-law Grace and Jo Robertson. They have sourced their stock carefully, selling meat from their husbands’ farm and Carters Butchers in Bamburgh, well loved Northumberland drinks such as Hepple Gin and Vodka and spring Marlish Water, and bread from Alnwick’s Bread and Roses. And their deli counter is full of home-made sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiches, delicious pies, pain au chocolat, plus home-made granola and the usual staples of milk and newspapers. Pick’n’mix and a hot chocolate make a nice holiday treat for the children.
