Perfectly located midway between Alnwick and Bamburgh and close to Northumberland’s heritage coast, Brunton House is a splendid, stone-built, traditional Northumbrian country house only two miles across fields from the beach. Brunton House is an exclusive coastal hideaway where 16 guests can stay in 5 star luxury, all under one roof. It has beautiful, mature gardens and just a ‘ha-ha’ wall separating the main front lawn from the organic fields.
The extensive renovations to the house have been carefully designed with large groups in mind, making Brunton House ideal for memorable family get-togethers, special occasions and sporting parties. There is fabulous entertaining space, including a dining room seating 16, an elegant drawing room, and an atmospheric hall ideal for pre-dinner drinks or playing games, in addition to a games room and a snug/TV room. Guests can play pool or table football, find a quiet spot to work, curl up with a film, relax by a fire with a good book, or prepare a feast undisturbed in the second kitchen.
The elegant interior of Brunton House is light, bright and incredibly spacious. Superb designer fabrics ensure each room has its own individual charm, with a seamless fusion of classic antique and contemporary items, original artworks, quirky objects d’art, and an extensive library of books dotted around the house. All mod-cons are provided, including Wi-Fi throughout the house, a Bluetooth speaker, a 55″ smart TV with Sky Q in the snug, and additional TVs with Freeview and built-in DVD players in the sitting room and every bedroom. Eight individually-designed bedrooms and seven luxurious bathrooms, plus one on the ground floor, provide superb ‘boutique hotel’ style accommodation.
The estate is well set up to cater for family and group bookings.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The fabulous individually-themed bedrooms at Brunton House comprise three with super-king-size beds and five with zip-and-link beds, which can be configured either as super-king-size or twins. Each of the bedrooms on the first floor has its own en-suite or adjacent bathroom. The two second floor bedrooms share a bathroom, making this floor ideal for a family, teenage children or a nanny. Every bedroom has working shutters, a television with Freeview and DVD, a dressing table, and plenty of storage. There are heated towel rails in each bathroom. Fluffy Egyptian cotton towels and luxurious White Company toiletries are provided for all guests.

Garden and Grounds
Brunton House sits within private and beautiful, mature gardens that include a secluded children’s play area. Our guests also have the use of the wider estate extending to some 2,500 acres. There is ample parking.
Two well-behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement in the back of Brunton House (uncarpeted downstairs rooms only – see back door, boot room, drying room and kitchens on the floorplan). Guests are responsible for ensuring dogs remain within these areas and should not be allowed into other rooms, upstairs or to climb on to furniture. Additional dogs may be allowed, again with our prior permission. We are a dog-friendly working farm with livestock and machinery. Dogs must not be allowed to roam unsupervised and must be kept under close control at all times.
Accommodation for Larger Groups
Stable Cottage (sleeps 6), just 50m away, is also a dog-friendly setting, with an enclosed garden. Mill Race (sleeps 4) and Brunton Burn (sleeps 2) are just over the Brunton burn bridge.
Launching in 2023 will be Brunton Granary (sleeps 8), Brunton Lake (sleeps 4), Long Byre (sleeps 2) and Swallow Dean (sleeps 2).
Please bear in mind that Brunton House is really designed for 16 guests to be comfortably accommodated and that it is not a ‘party venue’!
