The Blacksmith’s Shop: A Historic Gathering Place

Once the centre of craftsmanship in Brunton hamlet, the Blacksmith’s Shop has been thoughtfully transformed into a versatile event space. Retaining its original charm, complete with the old fireplace and blacksmith’s bellows, our venue now accommodates up to 36 guests. Modern amenities such as underfloor heating, high-speed Wi-Fi, a commercial kitchen, and accessible facilities ensure both comfort and functionality. This harmonious blend of history and modernity creates an inviting atmosphere for various events, notably our highly anticipated Supper Clubs.

A Culinary Collaboration with The Village Farm Shop

Our Supper Clubs are a collaborative effort with The Village Farm Shop in Embleton, renowned for its commitment to local produce and culinary excellence. Co-owner and acclaimed chef Grace Robertson curates seasonal menus that showcase the rich Flavours of Northumberland. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, reflecting the region’s gastronomic heritage and the freshest ingredients sourced from local farmers and artisans.

Celebrating Burns Night: A Memorable Inaugural Event

Our inaugural Supper Club, held on January 26th, embraced a Burns Night theme, honouring the famed Scottish poet Robert Burns. Guests were treated to a three-course meal that celebrated both Scottish and Northumbrian Flavours. Highlights included traditional haggis paired with locally sourced neeps and tatties, all complemented by Ad Gefrin whisky, a distinguished spirit from a nearby distillery. The evening was a harmonious blend of cultural homage and culinary delight, setting a high standard for our future events.

Upcoming Events: A Feast for the Senses

Building on the success of our first Supper Club, additional dates have been announced. Our next gatherings are scheduled for March 15th and 16th, promising new menus that continue to highlight the best of local produce. These events offer guests an opportunity to indulge in exceptional cuisine while mingling with fellow food enthusiasts in the cosy ambiance of the Blacksmith’s Shop.

An Invitation to Experience Northumbrian Hospitality

Our Supper Clubs at Brunton House and Cottages are more than just dining events; they are immersive experiences that celebrate community, tradition, and the bounty of Northumberland. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor seeking an authentic taste of the region, these gatherings provide a unique opportunity to connect with the area’s culture and cuisine.
