Our luxury, self-catering holiday house and holiday cottages are superbly located (just 4 miles off the A1) midway between the market town of Alnwick and Bamburgh, next to the famous Northumberland heritage coast.

A self-catering family holiday at Brunton House and cottages places you in a superb spot for visiting all of Northumberland’s famous attractions, including Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Garden, Bamburgh Castle, Cragside, Hadrian’s Wall and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, as well as the Northumberland National Park. Whether travelling south from the Scottish Borders or north from Newcastle, there is very easy access from the A1. We are close enough to view the sea and sand dunes of Beadnell Bay and are in a completely tranquil and unspoilt rural setting.

Alnmouth Station on the East Coast Mainline is only 10 miles to the south. There is an excellent regular, direct service to London (3.5 hours), Newcastle (25 minutes) and Edinburgh (1 hour).

Brunton House and the cottages are well set up to cater for family and group bookings. Brunton House can sleep 16, very comfortably, all under one roof with fabulous, individually designed, generous bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. There are 3 other holiday cottages close by which can be booked independently. Stable Cottage, with its enclosed garden, is dog friendly and sleeps 6, while Mill Race (sleeps 4) and Brunton Burn (sleeps 2) are just over the Brunton burn bridge, and all have been awarded 5*Gold by Visit England.

Walking

You can find great walks on the many tracks and footpaths around the 2,500-acre Fallodon Estate, on our unspoilt, sandy beaches and inland through the Northumberland National Park and up amongst the Cheviots.

Cycling

Cycle Route 1 passes through the middle of the estate. It is a very popular area with lots of quiet roads to explore.

Alnwick

The historic market town of Alnwick with its castle and gardens, is only 15 mins drive away.  And we are very close to the coastal villages of Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Craster and Seahouses.

Golf

There area a variety of outstanding links courses within a 20-minute drive.

Castles

There are no less than ten castles within an half an hour’s drive.

Bird sanctuaries

From Seahouses take a boat out to the Farne Islands which boast more than 250,000 breeding birds.

Fishing

You are welcome to fish on the trout lake below the mill, or you can try mackerel fishing at sea or salmon fishing on the Tweed.  There is also the Chatton Trout Fishery in a beautiful setting 20 mins from Brunton.
