Beaches

There is so much choice on this spectacular coastline but our favourites are –

Linkhouse/Beadnell Bay (3 miles) Park and pay at Newton Link House, best sand dunes and usually very quiet. 🐾

Low Newton/Embleton Bay (3.5 miles) Park and pay in the car park at the top of the hill.  Visit the famous Ship Inn pub before a great walk to Dunstanburgh Castle.  Free loan of beach wheelchairs bookable through Beach Access North East. 🐾

Dunstan Steads/Embleton Bay (4 miles)  Walk across the golf course onto Embleton Bay.  Overlooked by the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle. 🐾

Bamburgh (10 miles) A world famous stretch of beach with the impressive castle towering over the beach.  Voted one of Britain’s top 5 beaches. 🐾

Ross Links (14 miles) For walkers and bird watchers especially. Find the stone markers that have guided boats into Holy Island for hundreds of years. 🐾

Alnmouth (11 miles) The bay has six miles of beach with the river Aln running into it with its beautiful estuary, popular for sailing.  Children’s play area at the back of the village near the beach car park, right on the sea front. 🐾

Sugar Sands (8 miles) Quiet secluded beach east of Longhoughton. 🐾
